School-Based ReAD.IT Direct Instruction
This program can be funded by the district using COVID Compensatory Services funds distributed to districts to help with the loss of skills resulting from school interruptions. Contact your school to see if your child is able to receive services using this funding stream.
ReAD.IT is able to be delivered in the school setting as well as the clinic setting. Working directly with students as well as with teachers, implementation of a research-based program for the student can also involve training of the teacher. Creating a classroom that allows students to be efficient and confident readers begins with research-based instruction followed by professional development. Sometimes, classroom instruction does not reach every student and therefore intensive instruction in needed for one or several students. In this regard, Dr. Kelly is able to provide a 16-week program that would accelerate the reading development process and allow the child to be better able to access the reading demands in school. Dr. Kelly offers both virtual and in-person trainings to help teachers understand the neuroscience of reading and how to implement a program that fits with that research.
