Karen P. Kelly, Ph.D.

Dr. Kelly is a neuropsychologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children with learning and brain-related disorders. Dr. Kelly has extensive experience with the evaluation and treatment of patients in pediatric hospitals as well as in the school settings. In addition, she consults with schools and physicians to help implement recommendations and evaluate responses to medication treatments.
Dr. Kelly received her Ph.D. from Temple University in Philadelphia, her predoctoral internship from Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT, and post-doctoral training from duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Kelly has worked extensively with children with traumatic brain injuries, from concussion to more severe brain injuries/conditions. In addition, Dr. Kelly has worked as a special educator, specializing in teaching children with learning disabilities, specifically dyslexia and related disorders.
Dr. Kelly has also developed an intensive reading program, ReAD.IT, a 16 lesson program to help children with retractable reading disorders who have not responded to other research-based treatments. Dr. Kelly works directly with schools to help teachers learn about the neuroscience of reading. She has testified at local and state levels to help children with learning disorders. Dr. Kelly was also part of the PA Dyslexia Coalition Legislative Coalition original pilot program for supporting the identification and treatment of dyslexia in the school setting.
